Happy 93rd !!!!
Convalescent Aid Society was founded in 1923 by seven Pasadena residents who were concerned about indigent people who were discharged from hospitals and who were unable to afford the various things one needs during convalescence at home. An earlier history of CAS describes the desire to “give help to people who fall through the cracks of assistance from other agencies, and to those who usually provide for their families and themselves, but who, because of illness, hardships or convalescence need some special assistance without regard for the scrutiny, rules and regulations that so many organizations require before help can be given.”
